Their involvement included the following: - Interviewing me on functionality of my previous facility. - Creating as-built interpreted documents from my 9-year old undocumented, evolved build of my old video studio. - Creating a new replicated and improved design with streamlined and more integrated workflow (based on new created documents and my user interpretation of functionality and performance criteria.) - Working with our architects and general construction to coordinate and integrate the design into construction of our new facility across town in a new building. Our build out consists of a multi-camera studio, green room, control room, machine room and 3 edit bays. Our facility performs many types of functions for the support of out locally headquartered corporate media and communications requirements. Such uses include, but are not limited to, inbound and outbound fiber broadcast of interviews on national TV networks, data network type corporate streaming, major announcements, training and on-going employee communications, communications of the CEO and other high ranking corporate representatives, editing and broadcast of audio and video content, archival and conversations of legacy media. Our company has been working with Spider Ranch for the past two years. We originally chose Spider Ranch to design and install a state of the art A/V system for our new event center in Marin County. I have worked with Mark Sweet for over 10 years on many different projects, primarily with Mark as Senior Manager of Integration at Spider Ranch Productions. In most of these projects, I have been the systems design engineer, drafting the drawings needed for Mark and his crew to intelligently estimate costs and time needed for any given installation. Typically, I design audio/video systems for production and broadcast use. Under the general heading of “media systems”, audio and video are now grouped with internal and external distribution, Live TV, Streaming, terrestrial broadcast, etc. But sometimes a project calls for more. The Booker T Washington Community Service Center is a good example. I acted as their A/V consultant and studio designer. They had already spent considerable effort to develop a large and complex community center, including 50 housing units, a Day care Center, a Garden, and a full-size sports gym. In addition they wanted a computer “lab” and a Studio/Control Room that would accommodate professional work and training. I knew Mark Sweet would be able to fill the bill as both a Public Address contractor (for the Gym), and Studio-grade installation contractor (for the Control room/studio). And I was soon glad to have made that choice. The first challenge was being told we had only three days to install all wiring for the gym and then it would be sealed with no future access. Mark was un-phased by the surprise and helped generate a quick plan for a long future. After much coordination with “others”, got a crew to install it with time to spare. After that, Mark and the Spider Ranch crew just kept on going; they completed all audio, video, and network systems for that gym and BookerT’s Technical Suite (as they now call the computer lab, Studio, Control Room, and Master Rack room); and they did it professionally, on time, and within budget. It become apparent early on that Mark was a positive asset to have in completing this project. His attention to detail and ability to coordinate with other trades made for the best possible build of BookerT’s systems. But I expected nothing less. Time and time again, project after project, Mark and his crew prepare, arrive, install, test, train, and support with success. I would recommend Mark Sweet and his Spider Ranch Productions crew for any work related to audio, video, and lighting; either for design, installation, or technical support. Or all of the above!

Advanced Systems Group, in a team effort with Spider Ranch Productions, installed the Meyer-designed sound system in the Littlefield Concert Hall at Mills College, Oakland, in January, 2015. Advanced Systems Group acted as prime contractor and provided the equipment required. Throughout the process-scope definition, bidding, preparation, installation, delivery-Mark Sweet and his Spider Ranch colleagues operated with complete professionalism, competence, and attention to detail. They were also able to adapt to changing conditions with efficiency. Every milestone was met, often ahead of schedule. The result was fully documented, with each cable clearly and logically labeled. I would strongly recommend them for any sound or video installation work.

In September of 2014, the JL Stanford Middle School PTA and the school administration launched a project to design and install a substantial upgrade to the sound system in the school auditorium. The project was complex for several reasons. The room was built in the 1960’s and information about the pertinent structures was not available. Also, the funding of the project involved two entities (the school district and the PTA), one of which is a public government‐run school and thus entailed additional complications. Spider Ranch Productions was hired to procure and install audio and acoustic components in accordance with our budget as well as with the regulations imposed by the school and its corresponding state regulatory requirements. Mark Sweet, Senior Manager of Integration at Spider Ranch Productions spent a good deal of time with all the school and PTA stakeholders to insure all components met the design and purchase requirements. Mark expended a great deal of time and effort to respond to a multitude of delays and changes caused by our inability to provide complete documentation and specifications for the system and its safe installation. Mark proactively and consistently managed all aspects of the project to keep it moving forward. It wasn't until well into the project that we became aware of an important aspect of Mark's services which truly differentiate his company from all others: Mark's expertise and the Spider Ranch business model enable the company to provide solutions that other providers refused to even quote. There were several points in the project when a new problem would appear, and Mark was always willing to work closely with us on a solution to solve the problem - points at which I am certain other vendors would have declined to participate. We have been working with Spider Ranch Production for over 10 years. We started with project work at our San Mateo location and because of the solid relationship that was quickly established it led to us choosing Spider Ranch for a major project at our new Redwood City location in 2005 installing a state of the art audio/video system that was the most advanced system we had ever built into a gym. We opened to rave reviews and as complicated as the system was, it was completely problem free. Over the years they have handled every aspect of our audio/visual needs which each year grow in scope and complexity. Our clubs have hundreds of TV's, video monitors, amps, microphone systems, digital displays and complex sound systems. As we have grown as accompany our needs have also and Spider Ranch has always been able to exceed our requirements. Recently they have accomplished the following major projects; 2013 they completely rewired and installed a major sound system in our SF Fillmore location. 2014 they completely rewired and installed a major sound system in our SF Castro location. 2014 they designed and built the most complex audio/visual project in our newest high profile location located in Twitter's world headquarters. This system included the most cutting edge Virtual Reality Spin room of any gym in California. Regardless of whether it's a new gym being built and designed form the ground up or an emergency call to get something repaired before our next class is in session they are responsive, trust worthy and they never over charge us. I have never taken the time to write a statement like this for any our vendors but am compelled to do so because of the relationship between our two companies.
